  • Heartbeat

  • Sweat

  • Anxiety

 Analyze why you are angry

There are many reasons why you may be angry.  This is a normal or understandable response in some situations, such as not being treated unfairly by yourself or anyone else.  If you're not sure why you're just throwing yourself at someone, think about your entire day and try to figure out what triggered it.

Some other reasons you may be angry include:

  • You are under a lot of pressure
  •  You are experiencing physical or hormonal changes that cause mood swings.

If you work on acknowledging your anger first and then acting on it, it won't have such a detrimental effect on your relationship, body, mind, and emotions.

Write it down

Sometimes writing things down can help you figure out why you are feeling angry and how you could deal with it.  This will help you keep things in perspective.

Count 100

This one sounds pretty basic but it works.  Thinking about something other than something that bothers you for 100 seconds can help you avoid burning the wick.  It allows you to combine your thoughts and yourself before doing anything else.

Press Pause

If you lose your cool, remove yourself from the situation for a while.  It does even better when everyone it includes feels calm.

Move your body

Practice is a great way to quit smoking.  You can walk around the block, run, or do something really hard like boxing.

Talk to someone

Talking about your beliefs about how you feel can take the weight off your mind and off your shoulders.  It could be a trusted adult, friend, or family member.  You can even go to the Reachout forums and talk to other young people who feel like you.

If your anger gets out of control, consider seeing a mental health professional

Take some time to relax

If it helps you relax, you know that you will find it really useful when you are angry.  Take your time to do what you love, whether it's walking in the park, reading a book, or listening to music.  You can also try an app like Smiling Mind to help you relax.
